If you are a graduate in a university, you might have been bored with your professors. You know what? I can relate.
I may have been one of the most attentive students in a class you will meet for the simple reason that I don’t want to review at home, and yet I can say that most teachers are boring!
Why? Because they are preachers, not leaders.
I remember when I was in second grade, we had an activity and our teacher asked us what do we want to be when we grow up. Guess what? I answered “I want to be a teacher!”, I can still remember that she was touched upon hearing that statement from me.
I can say that she is one of the teachers who had an impact in my life and maybe that is the reason why I dreamed of being a teacher. Fast forward today, I know that I will never be rich being a school teacher. ]
That’s why I never did.
But I realized something. I realized that life is really funny and mysterious at the same time.
I realized that today… I am a teacher.
My heart and my passion led me to what I do today. Through my blogs, my talks, my videos, my training programs, my team, and in all aspects of my life. I am a teacher.
I never planned this but this happened. I would like to think that this is because of the influence my second grade teacher had to me back then. There was a transformation that happened in me, not just in my intellectual abilities, but most importantly, in my heart. I owe a lot of my success to you ma’am!
Now I am saying that teachers are leaders. This happens there is a process transformation, not just delivery of information.
If you are a teacher and you are reading this blog, you might want to consider doing things that can influence your students to be leaders as well, not just good in academics.
If you are a trainer speaking in front of people, always remember that the absorption of your content will be greatly dependent on the way you teach and not just what you teach.
I really hope that all the teachers out there will not just be preachers, but they will walk the talk and lead from the front. We already have a crisis in education, the world needs more leaders like you. It’s time to step up! Can I count on you?
